HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 12, 2024) – For the second straight Thursday, the Lakeshore has been buffeted by wintry conditions.
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect through 7 PM on Thursday for Allegan, Ottawa, Muskegon and Oceana counties, as high winds led to dozens of vehicles crashing and sliding off roadways last night and early this morning. Allegan County Sheriff Frank Baker says that, sometimes, the bigger the vehicle is, the harder they fall.
Most school districts are taking a second straight Thursday Snow Day, with no classes slated. Conditions should ease up as Thursday goes along, and forecasters say that, following some Arctic chill overnight, a warm up over the weekend will again confound those who are hoping that the snowfall now could lead to a White Christmas in about two weeks time.
