HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 2, 2024) – A 23-year-old woman was injured but apparently escaped serious harm following an alleged domestic assault at a residence on Holland’s North Side late on Monday afternoon.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies were alerted to the situation around 4 PM at a unit in the Windmill Lakes apartment complex off of Felch Street east of US-31. A passerby had seen the woman jumping from a window and fleeing the scene.
After having the unnamed woman taken to an undisclosed area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the incident, members of the Sheriff’s Office Critical Response Team searched for a 31-year-old male acquaintance who was reportedly armed with a handgun, but could not immediately locate the suspect. It was determined that the suspect had not fired the weapon during this incident, and no other residents were hurt.
During the immediate search, the complex was partially blocked off for a time, while several nearby residents were asked to stay inside of their units. Those restrictions were lifted about four hours later when it was determined that the suspect had left the area.
