LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 21, 2024) – The Lakeshore’s police presence will be bolstered after a ceremony in Lansing on Thursday afternoon.
Logan Miller of Allendale will be among 52 recruits who will be sworn in as Michigan State Police troopers during a graduation ceremony at the Lansing Center, which concludes the 147th Michigan State Police Trooper Recruit School. He will be assigned, along with Rachel Moore of Niles and Shelby Wilmot of Oxford, to the Wayland post, while coming to the Grand Rapids post, which serves Ottawa County, are Seth Bowen of Grand Blanc, Nolan Darby and Adel Odobasic of Grand Rapids, Caleb Geeting of Fremont, Cade Rogers of Lowell, and Alena Taylor of Hastings.
These graduates underwent nearly 1200 hours of hands-on training, lectures, and scenario-based instruction at the MSP Training Academy. They were visited during their tenure by Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist and other state leaders.
Applications for the 149th Trooper Recruit School that begins in July are now being accepted through the state police website.
