Sam J. Raimondo Jr., 76, of Holland, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Golden Orchards in Fennville.
Sam was born December 19, 1947, in Cleveland, Mississippi, to Sam J. Sr. and Carmella (Papa) Raimondo. He graduated from Catholic Central High School and then started his professional career at Steelcase. He spent 42 years at Steelcase, transitioning to being the Supervisor at the Desk Plant. Sam was raised as Catholic but later became an active member of Unity Church on the Lakeshore, where he served as President of the Board. He also served as President for many years in their neighbor association in Fennville.
At Unity, he also got to dress up in Luann’s finest apparel that she made; being Santa Claus for many years, dancing and singing praises to the Lord as his wife accompanied him in her Mrs. Claus suit as well.
In 1968 he married Luann Goff, and they raised their children in Jenison. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother David Lee Raimondo, and his brother-in-law Roger Goff.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Luann Raimondo, daughter Carmen (Troy) Manning of Zeeland, son David A. Raimondo (Amanda) of Portland, Michigan, four grandchildren: Sam Manning, Olivia Manning, Celia Raimondo, Giovanni Raimondo; in-laws: Ward (Penny) Goff, Mel (Ginny) Goff, Jerry (Linda) Goff; nephew Christopher (Virginia) Goff, many nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
