HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 15, 2024) – A 59-year-old Holland man was involved in a single-vehicle crash early on Sunday morning north of the Tulip City.
Not many details were immediately provided by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Brad Bennett concerning the incident off of Butternut Drive near Hayes Street around 12:50 AM. The unnamed motorist’s vehicle veered right off of the roadway and collided with a utility pole, causing it to snap, and bringing power lines down onto the roadway. It not only caused a lengthy traffic blockage, but also disrupted electric service for a time before crews were able to restore power to the affected customers.
The incident is under investigation.
