Grand Valley State begins its men’s basketball season this evening as the Lakers welcome Walsh to the Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale.

Anthony Edwards tossed in 33 points as the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves downed the Bulls at the United Center last night, 135-119. Chicago is in Atlanta tomorrow evening, after the Hawks meet the Pistons at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit tonight.

Sheldon Dries’ shorthanded goal with 1:20 left in the second period snapped a 2-2 tie, and the Griffins went on to a matinee win in Des Moines over the Iowa Wild yesterday, 5-2. Grand Rapids battles the IceHogs in Rockford this evening.
