At 10:25 PM, Ottawa County Clerk Justin Roebuck’s office had partial results from all 130 precincts in his jurisdiction, totaling more than 62 thousand votes. Early indicators showed a nearly two-to-one margin for the Trump-Vance presidential ticket and for Mike Rogers over Elisa Slotkin in the US Senate race. State House Republican incumbents Brad Slagh, Nancy DeBoer and Luke Meerman had comfortable leads, as well as incumbent county treasurer Cheryl Clark and county water resources commissioner Joe Bush. Derek Dalman had 61 percent of the vote over Michael Zitta in the 20th Circuit Court Probate Judge race. No Allegan County results had been disclosed as of yet.
Around 9:15 PM, CBS News released results of its polling of Michigan voters taken on Tuesday. The canvassing. with a margin of error of plus or minus three points, showed younger voters (aged 18-29) are narrowly going for Mr. Trump (51% to 46%), a demographic Mr. Biden claimed with 61% four years ago. CBS believes this is due to younger men in Michigan who are more for Mr. Trump. Vice-President Harris is doing better with voters 65 and over (55% to 43%), a group more divided than in 2020, and who make up a larger share of the electorate than young people do.
MIRS News reported around 9:10 PM that early, unofficial results statewide indicated that Kyra Bolden will retain her state Supreme Court seat, and that Kimberly Thomas would claim a vacating spot on the high court bench. The two Democrats would defeat Republicans William O’Grady and Andrew Fink, respectively, to solidify the Democrats’ hold on the state Supreme Court to a 6-2 margin.
