New York Mets left-hander Sean Manaea declined his $13.5 million option for 2025, according to multiple reports on Sunday.
Opting out of the final season of a two-year, $28 million deal will make Manaea a free agent.
Manaea, 32, went 12-6 with a 3.47 ERA in 32 regular-season starts before going 2-1 with a 4.74 ERA in four postseason starts. It was his first season with the Mets.
Manaea professed interest in returning to New York next season after the Mets were eliminated by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series.
Manaea is 77-62 with a 4.00 ERA in 228 appearances (198 starts) with the Oakland Athletics (2016-21), the San Diego Padres (2022), the San Francisco Giants (2023) and Mets.
