LAKETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 29, 2024) – There are five semifinalists vying to assume the operational leadership of a Lakeshore community.
Last Wednesday, a search committee, comprising of members of the Laketown Township Board and residents, narrowed the list of hopefuls for Township Manager from 40 who had applied, and 11 that were initially sifted by former Holland City Manager Ryan Cotton of retained consulting firm MGT, to five. The selection was done behind closed doors, which is allowable under the state’s Open Meetings Act because it was a personnel matter, and the applicants had requested such confidentiality.
The identities of the five semifinalists were disclosed on Monday when the agenda for this Wednesday, October 30th’s special meeting at the Township Hall (4338 Beeline Rd.) was posted. Peter Bratt, Andrea Dumbrell, Bob Genetski, Brandon Mersman and Karen Sherwood will be interviewed by the board during a 9 AM session, with a second round of interviews for the two finalists slated for the following Wednesday afternoon, November 6th, also at the township hall.
Laketown Township is looking to replace Al Meshkin, who is retiring on January 3rd after 35 years as its manager.
