SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 18, 2024) – A member of the Saugatuck Planning Commission has a new municipal duty.
On Thursday evening, the Saugatuck City Council appointed Joe Clark to its governing panel. He will complete the term of Logan White through next November, as White was compelled to step down last month due to a move to a new home in Holland.
Clark, a retired technology executive, not only serves on the Planning Commission, but was also a member of the Short Term Rental Task Force that advised the council on revisions to the city’s ordinances on that matter. He was chosen ahead of former Mayor Chris Peterson, Saugatuck Township Fire Board member Dan Fox, Kalamazoo Lake Harbor Authority member Mark Klunger, Joe Leonatti and Sherry Tedaldi. The latter two, along with Peterson, are on the November 5 General Election ballot, vying against incumbents Lauren Stanton, Helen Baldwin, Scott Dean and Greg Muncey for four seats on the Saugatuck Council.
