The Hope College football team moved up in the American Football Coaches Association and D3football.com polls this week.
After defeating Trine University, 42-6, on Saturday, the MIAA co-leading Flying Dutchmen rose to No. 21 in the AFCA rankings from No. 24.
Hope also is No. 21 in the D3football.com poll after debuting at No. 23 on Sept. 29.
The Flying Dutchmen reached the halfway point of their season with a 5-0 overall record (2-0 MIAA).
Statistically, Hope leads all Division III in scoring defense (6.4 points per game) and is 17th in scoring offense (44.4).
The Flying Dutchmen are ranked second in the nation in total offense (550.8 yards per game) and rushing offense (352.2).
Hope’s next game is Saturday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. at Kalamazoo College in the renewal of the Wooden Shoes Rivalry.
