SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 26, 2024) – A Lakeshore community has a governmental leadership hole to fill.
The Saugatuck City Council held a special meeting on Thursday morning, in which it approved a selection process for filling a vacancy on its governing panel. On Monday, Logan White announced his immediate resignation due to the recent purchase of a home in the city of Holland.
With a 30-day deadline for appointing a replacement in the city charter, council went forward with a timeline of opening up the 15-day application process on Thursday, with a 5 PM deadline on Friday, October 11. Six days later, on October 17th, the council will go over the applications in a 5 PM meeting, with hopefuls making five-to-seven-minute presentations, and then selecting a person to complete White’s term over the next 13 months.
