The Hope College men’s soccer team is rising quickly in the United Soccer Coaches rankings for NCAA Division III.
The Flying Dutchmen finished ninth in this week’s poll — moving up nine spots after debuting in last week’s Top 25 at No. 18.
It is Hope’s first Top 10 appearance in the United Soccer Coaches rankings since the Flying Dutchmen placed sixth in the September, 23. 2014.
Led by head coach David Blahnik, Hope is off to a 7-1 start the season.
On Saturday, the Flying Dutchmen won their last game, 4-1 against one-loss Wabash College (Indiana) at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
Hope has scored opponents by a 27-6 margin this season.
Freshman Jackson Mindling (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian HS) tops the Flying Dutchmen with eight goals. Junior Grant Hassenrik (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian HS) is second on the team with four goals.
