LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 17, 2024) – A long-time non-profit leader in the Holland/Zeeland area will be leaving in about six weeks.
On Friday, Habitat for Humanity of Michigan announced that Don Wilkinson has been appointed Interim President and Chief Executive Officer for the agency, effective on October 1st. He has been the CEO of Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity for the past eight years, guiding the non-profit into increasing home construction rates from 2-3 annually to 16 in the past 12 months, including the first two multi-family townhomes, while initiating development partnerships with other agencies to build up entire neighborhoods.
Wilkinson will be replacing John Williams, who leaves Habitat next Friday, August 23rd, to become CEO of the Akron (OH) Urban League. The Habitat board will be searching for a permanent operational leader, with no initial word as to whether Wilkinson will be considered for, or is seeking that position.
