Jerald was born on February 22, 1938, in Vriesland, Michigan to Francis and Adriana DeWitt. He was the eldest of six siblings. Jerald married Louise Manning and the two of them attended Vriesland Reformed Church. Jerald loved working on his farm and had a keen ability for fixing anything and everything.
Jerald is survived by his siblings: Flora Muller, Marvin and Becky DeWitt, Harvey and Jeannie DeWitt, and Elaine Larson, as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Louise DeWitt in 2020.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Vriesland Reformed Church, 6839 Byron Road, Zeeland, MI, 49464. Rev. Jim Zinger will officiate. Prior to the service on Wednesday there will be visiting with the family beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Vriesland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Gentiva Hospice.
