POLKTON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, July 28, 2024) – Two children were hospitalized after the ATV that they were riding at a residence north of Coopersville flipped over on Sunday afternoon.
No names were disclosed by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Wildfong as deputies and other first responders were dispatched to the area of Wilson Street and 80th Avenue shortly after 2 PM. It appeared that a 12-year-old Grand Rapids girl, who was piloting the vehicle, made a turn too fast, causing the ATV to roll over and tossing both her and her passenger, an 11-year-old girl from Indianapolis.
The two youths were taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment of serious injuries that Wildfong said was not considered life-threatening. No other details were immediately revealed as the incident remains under investigation.
