Thomas was known for his love of family, friends, and the outdoors. Thomas enjoyed golfing, fishing, and traveling to Florida with his beloved wife, Cheryl. He was involved with the Holland Fish and Game Club for many years and was a member of Calvary CRC in Holland. Thomas will be remembered for his outgoing personality, genuine smile, and goofy sense of humor that could always make others laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Julia Tapley as well as his brother Theron Tapley.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Cheryl (Kraak) Tapley; children Laura Sue Norman, Melissa Ann DeJonge, and Don (Lori) Tapley. He is also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; parents in-law Grethyll and John Heuvelman; sister-in-law Sandi (Jerry) Ray; step-sister-in-law Vicky Brouwer (Larry Vera), and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service for Thomas will be held on Monday, June 17 at 11:00 AM at Lakeshore Memorial Services – 11939 James St. Holland, MI 49424. A visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. A private family graveside service will take place at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
