LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 22, 2024) – The Holland Area Visitors Bureau is getting a little financial help from Lansing.
On Tuesday, the Michigan Strategic Fund announced that the agency which promotes tourism in the Tulip City will receive $13,500 in federal Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration funds. The CVB, which is receiving all it had asked in an Accessible Traveler Grant application, is among 11 local marketing associations sharing in over $366,000 statewide to conduct community accessibility audits and to meet the needs of the visually impaired by making destination websites more accessible. Each association will be asked to provide a 50 percent financial match based on the project’s total cost, and the Holland CVB will use the money for website development.
This is the second round of ATG grants stemming from a $10.3 million federal COVID 19 recovery allocation to Michigan three years ago for statewide travel and tourism marketing. The Grand Haven/Spring Lake Area Visitors Bureau received $30,000 in a similar award from the MSF in January.
