Carol Lee DeVries (Stryker), age 85, of Holland, Michigan went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
Carol was a beloved wife, devoted mother, dear sister, loving daughter, adored grandmother, and dedicated friend. Carol’s unwavering faith in her Lord was a guiding light throughout her life. Carol loved spending time with her family whenever she could. Her passion for horses gave her great joy and peace throughout her life.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. Family and friends will remember Carol as a loving and caring person. They will miss her great sense of humor.
Carol is survived by her husband of 65 years, Martin DeVries Jr.; daughters: Christine (Dave) Veeder, Michelle (Paul) Andary; grandchildren: Tyler Dykstra, Eric (Carmen) Dykstra, Scott Veeder, Theresa, Jennifer, Joshua, and Thomas Andary; great-grandchildren Averee and Lincoln Dykstra.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Etta Stryker; sister, Marilyn Dunning, son-in-law, Bob Dykstra, aunt, Margret Stryker, in-laws: Walt and Lois DeVries, John DeVries, Ed and Shirley Devries, Barb DeVries; as well as her dad’s second wife, Anne Stryker.
A Celebration of Carol’s life will be 12:00 noon on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Fellowship Church, 2165 W. Lakewood Blvd. Holland, MI 49424. Visitation with the family prior to the service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Fellowship Reformed Church or Hospice of Holland.
