Thomas Ammann

Thomas Ammann, 79, formerly of Lakeview, Michigan and Holland, Michigan passed away recently in Zeeland, Michigan.
Tom was born on November 18, 1944 in Lansing, Michigan. Tom graduated from Haslett High School and Michigan State University. He loved both schools and treasured their reunions and meeting with old friends from back then. Tom served in the Air Force for four years. His work, for most of his life, was as a microbiologist with the State of Michigan Department of Health/Vaccine Research. He was a quiet Christian who enjoyed spending time with his family, being outdoors, fishing, canoeing, hunting, cycling (rode in four Dalmacs) and gathering with friends. Tom loved community service and participated as a writer for the Lakeview Enterprise, Lions Club of Lakeview, CROP Walk of Lakeview and Lakeview Summerfest. He also was a long time Optimist Club member in the Lansing area.
He is survived by his current wife of 31 years, Suzanne; his first wife, Patricia and their children, Elizabeth Peacock (Steve), grandchildren Madeline and Emily; Sarah Boss (Rick) and grandchild, Andrew. He is also survived by his two brothers, Larry Ammann (Sylvia) and George Ammann and many nieces and cousins.
There will be a memorial service on Friday, May 17th at 2pm at New Life United Methodist Church, 6584 W. Howard City-Edmore Road in Lakeview, MI with a luncheon to follow. The family requests that those attending help celebrate Tom’s life-long love of the MSU Spartans by wearing Spartan clothing or green and white to the service as we have one final ‘tailgate’ in Tom’s honor.
