Well, another year of “Postcards from Holland” is underway.
It’s the fourth year of strolling around downtown Holland (actually, walking distance from the WHTC studios just north of downtown is the radius), taking photos of iconic and not-so-iconic images of the Tulip City, as well as some scenic backgrounds with these images in the foreground. This not only keeps one in shape, somewhat, but it also brings a little slice of the Lakeshore to those of you who follow us from some distance away through the WHTC website or the WHTC smartphone app.
It’s not as if this feature is back by popular demand. There really hasn’t been a groundswell of support or dissent about “Postcards” since it began in the spring of 2022. It’s just one person’s way of cataloguing lasting images of work, and it just so happens to be accessible to anyone cruising the WHTC website.
Another lasting image will be on Wednesday, when we begin our first full season of live broadcasts involving “Talk of the Town.” We’ll be inside the DeZwaan Windmill from 9 AM-11:30 AM, meeting with visitors to Holland’s iconic symbol, as well as chatting with Katelyn Ver Merris of the Zeeland Historical Society and with Matt Helmus of the Holland Parks Department, who are slated to stop by. It may be storming outside on Wednesday, but we’ll be dry (we hope) inside, and we hope you can join us!
Thanks!
