He leaves behind his wife of nearly 71 years Geraldine; 4 children: Tony, Lynn (Tom), Lisa (Blair) and Todd (Angela); 8 grandchildren: Meaghan (Kermit), Ross (Kaitlin), Aaron, Marissa (Jake), Ryan (Stevie), Remy, Savannah, and Rayne; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Joe’s professional journey was fulfilling, rising to the position of President at Big Dutchman before leaving after a full career and founding National Bulk Equipment (NBE). Joe’s entrepreneurial spirit and tireless work ethic were always evident. His impact extended beyond business success; he mentored countless individuals and left an indelible mark on the business world.
A true steward of his community, Joe dedicated himself to philanthropy and service. His generosity, both in terms of time and resources, touched the lives of many. His belief in supporting youth and fostering future leaders was unwavering, reflecting his commitment to making a difference.
Joe was a member of Christ Memorial Church where he had served on the consistory. He also loved family time, hunting, skiing, golfing, bridge and playing any game with the grand kids. While Joe may be physically absent, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May Joe’s soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to be a blessing to all whose lives he touched.
Visitation will be 4-7pm Monday, March 25, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St., Holland. Funeral services will be 12 noon, Tuesday, March 26, at Christ Memorial Church, 595 Graafschap Rd, Holland.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boys and Girls Club of Greater Holland or American Cancer Society on his behalf.
