ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 18, 2024) – A 39-year-old Holland man will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Such a mandatory sentence was handed down on Monday by 48th Circuit Court Judge Margaret Bakker to Thaddeus Cortrez Wilson. He was found guilty on January 23rd of first-degree murder in the June 19, 2022 death of Joseph Roberts at an apartment complex off of Lincoln Avenue. The victim died of multiple gunshot wounds after an altercation, and Wilson had fled the state following the incident until his apprehension two months later in southern Illinois.
In addition to the life sentence on the murder charge, Wilson was also handed concurrent sentences for counts of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and methamphetamine, felony firearm use, and felony firearm possession.
