UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 28, 2024) – In last night’s Presidential Preference Primary for Michigan, these are the initial results from Ottawa and Allegan Counties:
Ottawa County had 26,5 percent of eligible voters casting ballots, with Donald Trump (28,694) winning the Republican presidential vote with 61 percent, followed by Nikki Haley (15,495) with 33 percent, and uncommitted (1,539) at three percent. Joe Biden (12,482) took the Democratic presidential vote with 83 percent, with 11 percent uncommitted (1,664).
Allegan County had 23.5 percent of eligible voters casting ballots, with Mr. Trump (11,589) winning the Republican presidential vote with 68 percent, followed by Haley (4,576) with 27 percent. Mr. Biden (5,131) took the Democratic presidential vote with 84 percent, with 10 percent uncommitted (623).
In local ballot issues: Park Township’s local street repair and maintenance millage proposal and increase passed with 66 percent (3761-1921); Allendale Public Schools’ operating millage renewal passed with 70 percent (2124-925); Spring Lake Township’s zoning map ordinance amendment failed with 75 percent (2307-758); Wright Township’s fire protection millage passed with 61 percent (433-280); Fennville’s fire safety millage renewal and increased passed with 74 percent (85-30); Monterey Township’s road millage passed by 52 percent (234-215); Glenn Public Schools’ operating millage renewal passed with 81 percent (92-21); and Glenn Public Schools’ increased in number of board seats proposal passed with 75 percent (86-28).
