LAKETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 11, 2024) – A vacancy has been filled on the Laketown Township Parks and Recreation Commission.
During a meeting on Wednesday, after conducting separate interviews with three finalists, the township board unanimously tabbed Tom Hoekman to complete the term of the departed Jeremy Van Hoeven through this coming November. With a background in construction and maintenance of over four decades, and a frequent attendee to board and parks commission meetings, including a stint on the Huyser Farm House Committee two years ago, Hoekman was chosen over Paul Eshenaur and Gray Gogolin to join Karen Simmons, Richard Becker, Anne Brand and Brad Laninga on the five-member panel that oversees township parks.
The Laketown Township Parks and Recreation Commission is slated to meet with its new member this coming Wednesday evening.
