HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 25, 2023) – Crime apparently takes no holiday, as a early Christmas morning robbery of a convenience store east of Holland can attest.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Wildfong, deputies were dispatched to the Oasis Mobil Mart off of Adams Street and 96th Avenue just before 1 AM. They found that a suspect entered the store, poured a cup of coffee, brought it to the counter, and when told of the purchase price by the clerk on duty, threw the drink in the clerk’s face, grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the drawer, and fled. The clerk was treated at the scene for minor burns to the chest and neck.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, possibly in his mid 20’s, with a thin build. He was wearing a ball cap and a face mask to cover his features.
Anyone with any information on the matter is asked to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department or Ottawa County Silent Observer (877-887-4536).
