LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Democratic majority in the Michigan House is going away with the elections of Representatives Kevin Coleman and Lori Stone as mayors of Westland and Warren, respectively.
The majority is currently 56-to-54 and when they both resign when sworn in as mayors that will be 54-54 until special elections are held to replace them.
The last time the state House had shared power was in 1994. Lawmakers are expected to adjourn for the year as early as today to move the presidential primary next year to February.
