FENNVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 24, 2023) – The city of Fennville has received funding to build a new, permanent space for outdoor entertainment. Fennville’s Downtown Development Authority received a Revitalization and Placemaking Program Grant from the state to build an amphitheater downtown, creating a permanent home for the city’s summer concert series and other events. Currently, concerts are performed on a temporary stage, assembled each time it’s used. Fennville will receive a $112,500 grant toward the project, which includes the amphitheater and a restroom building with solar panels. The total cost for the project is estimated at $470,985, with the DDA covering costs beyond the grant amount. The amphitheater will be constructed on an open area along Maple Street between Main Street and Fennville Street. The lot is across from Fennville City Hall at 125 S. Maple St. Construction could be completed by next fall.
