TROWBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 30-year-old woman is dead and a 71-year-old man is hospitalized following a head-on crash in Allegan County’s Trowbridge Township Friday morning.
Around 10:00 a.m. Allegan County Central Dispatch received a call from a retired firefighter about a crash on M-40, south of 102nd Avenue. An Allegan County Sheriff’s Office deputy and the Pinegrove Fire Department arrived on scene and attempted life saving measures on the woman from Lawrence, who was later pronounced dead.
The Allegan County Crash Reconstruction Team was called to the scene to investigate, and their preliminary findings indicate that the woman’s passenger car traveling southbound crossed the centerline, colliding with a northbound pickup truck operated by the man from Gobles. He was transported to a hospital in Kalamazoo for serious injuries.
Both the female and male were the only occupants in the vehicles. At this time the names are not being released until contact is made with family.
The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Michigan State Police, Pinegrove Fire Department, Life EMS, and the Michigan Department of Transportation.
