Jay Bosch, age 97, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 24, 2023. As Jay always said, “We have been blessed,” and we have been blessed with his long life, his generosity, his care for us, and his Christian faith and service.
Jay grew up in the Borculo and Zeeland area and graduated from Zeeland High School. He served in the Army during WWII in Italy, was wounded on the front line, and after recovery served in the Army Air Corps in Italy before returning home. Upon returning home, he worked at Lithibar for 52 years. He was an active member at Calvary Reformed Church where he served for many years as a Deacon. He was also involved in Boy Scout Troop 157.
Jay was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Bosch; and his second wife, Geraldine (Jerrie) Bosch.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen Bosch; son, Rick Bosch; stepchildren, Pat and Nick Bos, Barb and Bruce Wiggers, Tom and Ann Alderink, Bob and Ellen Alderink; many step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and sister, Eloise Anderson.
The family is thankful for the years of care their dad received from the staff of Appledorn North.
Visitation with the family is 1:00-1:45 pm on Monday, August 28, 2023, at Langeland Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland, MI 49423.
Funeral services are also on Monday, August 28 at 2:00 pm at Langeland Sterenberg with Rev. Daniel Carter officiating.
Burial to take place in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
