As summer comes on Wednesday, it’s time to get back to Holland’s iconic symbol and see how things are going.
That was the focus of our daily stroll on Tuesday. Windmill Island Gardens is immensely popular in the spring, when the tulips are blooming and there’s a crispness in the air. While a morning walk beats the pre-summer heat now, it also brings a quiet calm that is quite soothing.
It’s not as if we were alone. Many people take advantage of the early hours to walk the dog, walk themselves, or jog, and Windmill Island is a good place to do just that.
