FENNVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 25, 2023) – A final decision hasn’t been made yet in the search for a new Fennville school superintendent, but the end is getting closer.
After two days of interviews, the board of education is asking three persons to return to the Allegan County community next Wednesday, May 31st, for a tour of the district and a final round of questions. Carlos de la Barrera of Windham, Connecticut, OAISD Director of School Improvement Doug Greer, and Nicole Reyherme of Mill Valley, California emerged among five semifinalists queried in public sessions this past Monday and Tuesday. The final interviews will begin at 4 PM in the library/media center of Fennville High School (4 Memorial Dr.), and the public is encouraged to attend.
The district is seeking to replace Jim Greydanus, who announced his retirement after six years as superintendent. It is not known if the board will make an immediate decision after next Wednesday’s interviews, or it will wait until its next scheduled meeting on June 19th, as it looks to have that new leader in place by July 1st.
