FENNVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 22, 2023) – The search for a new Superintendent of Fennville Public Schools continues.
The board of education on Monday evening holds the first of two nights of public interviews for five finalists. Nicole Reyheme, Director of Secondary Education and Technology in Mill Valley, California, is the first to be questioned at 4 PM, followed 90 minutes later by Amy Mielke, an elementary school principal in Hopkins Public Schools, and Jason Stowe, the retired school chief of Leland Public Schools, meets with the board at 7 PM.
On Tuesday at 4 PM, Carlos de la Barrera, an Executive Principal in the Windham, Connecticut district, is interviewed, followed at 5:30 PM by Dr. Doug Greer, Director of School Improvement with the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District.
These five emerged from 15 educators who submitted applications for the superintendent’s position that Jim Greydanus is retiring from on June 30th after six years at the helm. It is not known if the board will hold another special meeting to determine a new school chief, or if it will wait until its next scheduled business session on June 19th to make a decision.
With Greydanus’ retirement, Dr. Tim Travis is now the longest-serving current school superintendent along the Lakeshore, as he assumed command of Saugatuck Public Schools five years ago.
