ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Southwest Enforcement Team detectives along with troopers from the Michigan State Police Wayland Post seized crystal methamphetamine, two firearms, ammunition, and evidence of drug distribution during a search warrant on Wednesday, April 19.
Officials say the search warrant was executed in the 2000 block of 36th Street in Allegan Township.
Although no arrests were made, detectives did encounter a 51-year-old man at the venue where the evidence was discovered.
A request for multiple felony drugs and firearms warrant will be sought from the Allegan County Prosecutor’s Office against that man once the investigation is complete.
The Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET) is a multi-jurisdictional task force that has been operating in Southwest Michigan since 1981.
SWET is comprised of law enforcement personnel from Allegan County Sheriff’s Office, Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, Covert Township Police Department, Hastings Police Department, Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office, Kalamazoo Township Police Department, Michigan State Police, South Haven Police Department, and the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office.
