KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Looks like another powerful winter storm is making it’s way toward West Michigan for Friday according to weather forecasters.
This possible weather event is coming on the heels of last week’s major ice storm that knocked out power to thousands across the state along with downing numerous power lines and trees.
Forecasters are predicting a potentially messy mix of rain, sleet, snow, and freezing rain that’s expected to hit early afternoon Friday and on into the night. They go onto say while the exact impact of the storm still remains unknown at this time, there is the potential for it to be equally as impactful as the storm that wiped out power to over 200,000 Consumers Energy customers.
Authorities are warning that driving will most likely become hazardous later in the day on Friday, but are expected to drastically improve Saturday afternoon when temperatures are predicted to warm up to near 40 degrees.
Stay tuned to AM590 & FM106.9 WKZO for latest weather updates as the storm itself progresses. Complete weather information can also be found at wkzo.com under the weather tab at the top of the page.
