BERRIEN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Detectives from Southwest Enforcement Team West Office (SWET), and Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety (BHDPS), along with Berrien County Tactical Response Unit (TRU Team), and Michigan State Police (MSP) Niles post troopers, executed a search warrant on Wednesday, February 15 in the 1200 block of Broadway Avenue in Benton Harbor.
The search warrant resulted in the arrest of a 46-year-old Benton Harbor man for the following charges: Delivery of cocaine, possession of cocaine, felon in possession of three firearms, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of a short-barrel shotgun, possession of a stun gun, and maintaining a drug house.
Also on the same day, SWET detectives, along with Berrien County Sheriff deputies and the New Buffalo Police Department executed a search warrant in the 1300 block of Bell Avenue, near the New Buffalo Middle School. There, detectives arrested a 45-year-old New Buffalo man for the following charges: Possession with intent to deliver crystal methamphetamine 2nd offense, maintaining a drug house 2nd offense and controlled substance delivery within 1000 feet of a school.

The Southwest Enforcement Team is comprised of law enforcement personnel from the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office, Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, Covert Township Police Department, Hastings Police Department, Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office, Kalamazoo Township Police Department, Michigan State Police, South Haven Police Department, and the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office.
