LANSING MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Governor Whitmer has announced that a record number of Michigan residents enrolled for health insurance during the recent enrollment window.
Whitmer reported that over 322,000 Michiganders chose a policy during the window, which was from November 1st of last year to January 15th of 2023.
The record setting number was aided, according to sources at the state Dept. of Insurance and Financial Services, by factors such as the federal Inflation Reduction Act, an effort to provide residents with the necessary information regarding health plans, and measures that allowed for more competition between insurers.
The next enrollment period will open up in November.
