HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 30, 2022) – While much of the state will spend this Wednesday remembering the events of November 30, 2021, when four persons were killed in a mass shooting at Oxford High School, it’s also the one-year anniversary of a different type of upheaval at a local school district.
During a special meeting, the Holland Board of Education accepted the resignation of Shanie Keelan as superintendent in a “mutual separation agreement,” five months after she came from the Chicagoland area to replace the retiring Dr. Brian Davis. Holland Middle School Principal Nick Cassidy was appointed as an interim school chief, but what happened in suburban Detroit that day overshadowed developments here.
Cassidy assumed the Holland School Superintendent’s role full-time in mid-March.
