NEW YORK, NY (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Red Wings fought back from a two-goal deficit and beat the Rangers in New York 3-2 in overtime Sunday.
The Rangers got out to an early lead after Kaapo Kakko and Mika Zibanejad scored first-period goals. Detroit answered back in the following period when Matt Luff netted a goal and Pius Suter scored the game-tying goal six minutes later.
After a scoreless third, the game went to overtime where Dominik Kubalik rifled home the game-winner for Detroit on the power play.
The Red Wings improved to 7-3-and-2 with their third straight win.
Detroit returns home to host Montreal tomorrow.
