YPSILANTI, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Eastern Michigan University basketball forward Emoni Bates is having felony charges against him dismissed next week.
Bates’ lawyer Steve Haney said he will be reinstated by the university and athletic department as a result.
Haney said that the charges were dropped after a plea deal was reached. Bates was arrested for having an unregistered handgun when he was stopped for running a stop sign.
