PAW PAW, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Southwest Michigan chapter of Blue Star Mothers is preparing to hold it’s annual holiday event this coming weekend.
The group will hold their “Shop for the Troops” event on Saturday, October 15 at the Family Fare in Paw Paw from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and at the Save-A-Lot, also in Paw Paw, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Blue Star Mothers and friends will be outside at both stores to hand out a small list of items that they will send troops that are overseas. One side of the handout contains a mini version of the “Soldier’s Wish List”, and the other side has the information about their Operation Holiday Cheer, the annual event where all donated items are packed up to send to our deployed service members.
Also on the handout is information on the chapter’s “Operation Holiday Cheer”, at which time they will pack up the items donated. This event is set for Saturday,
November 12 at the Paw Paw Lions Club.
Blue Star Mothers are also looking for any address of local men and women who are currently deployed. Please send the exact address along with your name and phone number to: Blue Star Mothers, P.O. Box 406, Paw Paw, MI 49079.
Donations to cover the expense of shipping are also welcome.
Drop boxes have also been placed at the Paw Paw United Methodist Church, Bangor United Methodist Church, Gobles United Methodist Church, and the Lawton Evangelical Church.
