DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers celebrated Miguel Cabrera’s 1,000th game at Comerica Park with a 5-2 win over the Minnesota Twins Sunday.
Cabrera had two hits in the victory, while Eric Haase and Victor Reyes each went deep.
Alex Lange earned his seventh win out of the bullpen, and Gregory Soto picked up his 30th save.
Detroit has won eight of its last nine games.
Simeon Woods Richardson was charged with the loss in his MLB debut after giving up two earned runs and one unearned run in five innings. Minnesota has dropped three of four.
Detroit will visit the Seattle Mariners tonight. The opening pitch is scheduled for 9:40 p.m. EDT.
