HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 30, 2022) – Ottawa County’s two four-year institutions of higher education begin classes on Tuesday.
For the start of Academic Year 161, Hope College is expecting over 3,200 students to be studying this fall, more than the 3,133 of a year ago, but short of the record 3,433 in 2014. This will include some 950 first-time students, some of which heard remarks from school President Matthew Scogin during the Opening Commencement ceremony at DeVos Fieldhouse on Sunday.
It’s also the first day of classes at Grand Valley State University’s campuses.
Finalized numbers on enrollment for both schools are expected sometime in September.
