HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 29, 2022) – More than two months after a 36-year-old man was gunned down at a Lincoln Avenue apartment complex in Holland, a suspect has been apprehended.
According to Holland Department of Public Safety Police Captain Bob Buursma, Thaddeus Cortez Wilson was apprehended without incident on Monday in Williamson County in southern Illinois. The US Marshals Fugitive Task Force had been assisting local authorities in the search for the 39-year-old Holland man, who has been a fugitive from justice since a five-count warrant was issued by the Allegan County Prosecutor’s Office on July 6th.
Shortly after midnight on June 19th, Holland police officers were dispatched to the Lincoln Avenue unit where they found Joseph Roberts suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene, and although many witnesses fled before authorities arrived, detectives were able to determine that Roberts and his assailant had quarreled before gunshots rang out.
A one thousand-dollar reward had been offered for information leading to Wilson’s arrest. He is being held in Illinois, awaiting extradition to the Allegan County Jail.
