KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The city of Kalamazoo named one of 2022 Top 100 Best Places to Live according to Livability.com.
With a total population of just over 76,000, Kalamazoo outpaced more than 2,500 cities with populations between 20,000 and 1 million in this data-driven ranking that placed it at 71 in the survey.
Livability.com Editor in Chief Amanda Ellis says people are thinking about where their money goes the farthest, as remote work trends continue and affordability becomes more elusive amidst high inflation. She went onto say quote, ““Our Top 100 Best Places to Live list celebrates the amazing small and mid-sized communities across the U.S. – the ones who really shine when it comes to offering affordability alongside amenities and opportunity.”
This as the average median home value in Kalamazoo comes in at nearly $218,000 while the median household income is around $43,000.
