DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers had the bases loaded in the ninth inning, but their rally fell short in a 3-1 loss to the San Francisco Giants in Detroit Tuesday night.
Evan Longoria homered for the Giants. Carlos Rodon struck out 10 and gave up just one run over seven innings for San Francisco.
The Giants are 61-and-61.
Eric Haase drove in a run for the Tigers.
Drew Hutchison gave up just one run over five innings but took the loss for Detroit. The Tigers are 47-and-77.
The two teams finish up this brief interleague series this afternoon, with a 1:10 p.m. start.
