DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers rallied from a 3-0 deficit but fell 6-4 to the San Diego Padres in 10 innings at Comerica Park Tuesday night.
Catcher Jorge Alfaro hit a two-run single in the top of the tenth inning. Detroit scored a run in the bottom of the tenth, but Nick Martinez was able to shut the door and earn the save.
Taylor Rogers (1-4) picked up the win despite blowing a ninth-inning lead.
Jeimer Candelario homered and drove in three runs for Detroit. Riley Greene had two hits including a game-tying single in the ninth. Gregory Soto took the loss.
The Tigers are 39-and-59. They will host San Diego in the final game of the three game series this afternoon, with the opening pitch set for 1:10 p.m.
