CLEVELAND, OH (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers only had five hits in a 4-0 loss to the Guardians in Cleveland Thursday.
Elvin Rodriguez gave up three runs over five and two thirds innings to take the loss for Detroit. Triston McKenzie got the win for Cleveland as he pitched eight scoreless innings while giving up five hits and striking out 12.
Josh Naylor and Andres Gimenez smashed homers for the Guardians while Amed Rosario got three hits.
The Tigers have lost six-out-of-seven and have dropped to 37-and-53. They will play at Cleveland again tonight. The opening pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. EDT.
