WAYLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Wayland Police have arrested a 24-year-old male resident of Wayland after an apparent shooting that occurred in the 3500 Block of Windsor Woods Drive in Allegan County.
It happened in the evening of Monday, June 27, around 11:24 p.m. when Wayland Police, Allegan County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Gun Lake Tribal Police officers responded to the 911 call. A suspect vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted.
Officers recovered a 9mm semi automatic pistol from the suspect and vehicle.
Additional evidence was located at the address on Windsor Woods.
It is believed by police there was only one shooter, who is now in custody.
The suspect was charged with the shooting, and other gun violations.
Authorities say that the assault came about from a dispute between two parties, and that is was not random in nature.
No injuries were reported, and the suspect’s name is being withheld pending arraignment.
