ALLEGAN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Five people were taken to area hospitals and M-89 in Allegan was shut down for nearly three hours Thursday morning after a head-on crash between an Allegan Area Educational Service Agency (AESA) school bus and a car.
According to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department, there was one student, an aide, and the driver on the Allegan AESA school bus. All were taken to Allegan General Hospital with non-serious injuries.
The other car involved was driven by a 17-year-old with a 15-year-old passenger inside. Both teens are from Ohio.
According to the sheriff’s department, the 17-year-old driver was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition and the 15-year-old passenger was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
The accident happened around 6:15 a.m. Thursday.
